Poorly Draining Water…Culprit In Causing Expensive Repairs

Seamless Gutters, Gutter Protection ·  Roofing, Siding, Gutter Contractors · Minneapolis, St. Paul, MN

Poor Rainwater Drainage Can Become Costly

Although gutters may not be so noticeable, they play an integral part of your home’s health.  Of all the enemies posed by the elements, water is the biggest culprit.  Poor functioning gutters are actually more of a menace than no gutters at all.  If water is not properly channeled away from your home, it will inevitably be directed AT your home.  That is why having properly functioning seamless gutters can ultimately become some of the smartest money you spend on your home.  In addition, most basements are not watertight compartments.  If ground water builds up too high next to your basement, eventually, it will find its way inside.  Proper gutters direct all of that rainwater away from the ground next to your basement, and out into harmless territory.

Gutter Facts

Over the last couple of winters, there have been over $1.5 billion dollars in insured losses due to burst pipes, frozen gutters and other weather-related disasters.

Seamless gutters will not leak at seams because there are none, sections join only at inside and outside corners and at downspout outlets.

Gutters come in more than 25 different colors – ideal for matching trim and house colors.

Gutter Tips

Remove leaves, acorns, sticks and other debris from gutters, so melting snow and ice can flow freely.

Consider installing “gutter guards,” which are screens that prevent debris from entering the gutter and direct the flow of water away from the house and into the ground.

Be proactive and take measures to ensure water is flowing freely away from your house.   Especially taking action prior to Fall when leaves start coming down and falling into your gutters is smart.  When considering installing gutters as a solution, remember there are many types of gutters to choose from including different types of materials.  The most prevalent material today is aluminum gutters.  Aluminum lends itself extremely well to the creation of seamless gutters which are manufactured right at each job from aluminum gutter stock.  The length is measured, the stock rolled through a gutter machine, which creates the shape, then cut and installed to perfect seamless length.

Often homeowners will opt to install gutter guards, as well, to prevent leaf build up and clogging.
